Collection of membership fees

My employer collects the membership fee from my salary. I authorize Woodworker´s Union to send a collection agreement to the payroll department / employer so collection can be started.

Instructions on how to fill in the membership form


 1. According to instructions relating to membership in unemployment funds, issued by the Financial Supervisory Authority, membership will begin on the date when the membership application has arrived at the unemployment fund.

2. A transfer from another trade union and/or unemployment fund must take place within 30 days. According to the Act on Unemployment Funds, a member cannot belong to two unemployment funds simultaneously.

3. Obstacles of entrepreneurs and managers to being members of trade unions and unemployment funds.
An entrepreneur refers to a person who is under an obligation to be insured in accordance with the Self-Employed Persons' Pensions Act (YEL) or the Farmers' Pensions Act (MYEL).

An entrepreneur also refers to a person who is covered by some other pension insurance and
  • •    who alone owns at least 15%, or whose family member owns or who, together with family members owns, at least 30% of the company for which he or she works in a position of authority and
  • •    who alone owns, or whose family members own or who, together with family members owns, at least 50 % of the company for which he or she works

A position of authority refers to a managing director, a member of the board of directors, a general porter in a limited partnership or partnership, a proprietor of a business name, and a person who owns a farm.
Family members refer to a spouse or a co-habiting partner, a child, a grandchild, a parent, and a grandparent living in the same household with the entrepreneur.
